Special Safety Projects Funded By
SAFE For FY 2011/2012
(July 1, 2011-June 30, 2012)

 

Each year, San Diego motorists pay an additional $1 with each vehicle registration to fund the programs operated by theSan Diego Service Authority for Freeway Emergencies (SAFE). This “dollar a year” insurance policy delivers a whole lot of coverage.

With the funds, the San Diego SAFE Board of Directors (seven local elected officials) provides a number of ongoing and special motorist aid services and projects to make the motoring experience safer and easier and, when problems on local freeways and highways occur, to deliver assistance as quickly as possible. Among these services are:
